Fetal Development Month by Month: Month 7

If your baby is not breech, he or she may have assumed the head-down position already, and you will feel powerful kicks near your ribcage and pressure near your pelvic floor. Your baby's weight will range from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 pounds. Other development this month includes taste buds, fat layers, and maturing organs.

You might start feeling pain from practice contractions, called Braxton Hicks, but you only need to be concerned if four or more contractions occur in one hour. When visiting your doctor, be sure to tell him or her if you notice any signs of preterm labor.
