Premature Births

Home Sweet Home

You and your baby can go home once he or she can:

  • Maintain a stable temperature.
  • Breast or bottle feed and gain weight as a result of feeding on their own.
  • Breathe properly without the assistance of a respirator.

Be sure to heed the advice of your doctor when taking care of your new baby and be sure to schedule a follow-up visit to mark progress. Visits and immunizations will also be more frequent if you have a premature baby.
