Nesting Instinct

Nesting Instinct Tips

Hectic afternoons cleaning the house can wear you out just when you need to be conserving your energy. Choose low-key activities, such as washing and folding baby clothes, and leave the big jobs, such as rearranging or setting up furniture, to your partner or other friends or family. Most importantly, listen to your body if you're tired or sore - do not overexert yourself or put yourself in risky situations like climbing tall ladders. Make sure to stay connected with your feelings to help release some of the anxiety or nervous energy that may contribute to nesting: try a yoga class, write in a journal, or go to a support group. You are not alone and many women are going through the same, unique process. The key is to find a happy medium between your nesting instincts and the health and well-being of you and your baby.
